The Knife of Never Letting Go: A Review

What would it be like if everyone could hear what you are thinking at all times? The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness illustrates this odd concept beautifully in the debut novel of the Chaos Walking trilogy.

Todd Hewitt is about to turn 13, and being the youngest in Prentisstown this will make him the very last  boy to become a man. Todd is counting down the days to this right of passage, along with the entire town anticipating event. But, on a simple apple picking trip an unexpected discovery in the nearby forest will expose Todd to the dark history of his town and force him to flee. In a town where all thoughts can be heard how can Todd escape safely with his precious discovery?

The knife of Never Letting Go is brilliant young adult page-turner that has set the bar for dystopian fiction high. It's Mad Max meets Hunger Games. Ness, has a way with breathing life into his characters creating the most lovable heroes and despicable villains. A modern cult-classic in the world of YA literature.
